Intercessory Ministry
Basic Kingdom Principals to release the anointing of an Intercessor

Prophet Sandra Lawson
Introduction
Intercessors are a gift to the Body of Christ. I believe that one reason they are so hidden is that they do such strategic work. All ministers intercede – praying about the burden they carry for their ministry work – but there are those who do not carry a burden of public ministry as much as they do a private one.
Because we don’t see it defined in the Bible per se, it could be argued if that is even a legitimate Spirit gift name, but when you get a crowd of them together, you will find some things very common to them that are not as common with others.
It’s often said in prophetic circles that “All prophets are intercessors, but not all intercessors are prophets.” That is said because of the public ministry work of declarations that are often made as the performance that fulfills that calling’s mandate. The other fulltime five-fold ministry gifts (Ephesians 4:11-16) pray just as much as the prophets do about their duties of ministry in fulfilling it.
This wonderful gift of intercession, that serves not only the ministers but also the Body of Christ at large and their styles and capacities span just as wide as the spectrum of all the other different ministries as well. Sometimes their burden is for individuals, sometimes it is for ministries or situations of Kingdom advancement. It is not just for the church that the intercessor is a member of, but true intercession is for the nation. Many times no one even knows the burdens they carry.
As you fellowship with Christian brothers and sisters, you start noticing these intercessors and their type of concerns and lingo. They have compassionate hearts and often very intense burdens. Many crave their alone time with the Lord so they can pray and they are sensitive to the sound – “The Clarion Call.”
The majority of intercessors are generally “the quiet type” and most do not advertise what they do but often can appear as weak because they are so sensitive that they fear they will interfere with or quench something. They really work to hear and see “between the lines” of what is being said or done so they can know how to pray.
One of the things that strongly marks an intercessor is their attention to details. What can seem exhaustive to someone else is “the nuts and bolts” to the intercessor. When they pray, they go over every detail imaginable. It can almost seem foolish but their experience will bear out the wisdom of doing it that way.
The burdens are beyond their personal social life. When walking into a crowded room of people, the Spirit’s Heart will draw their attention to the ones who need prayer. When someone asks for prayer, they take it very seriously and are often the “prayer bones” of the local church. Because they are so quiet and generally unassuming, they often get taken for granted and frequently misplaced in other ministries. This could be because intercession is not just a ministry, it’s a lifestyle.
But as Christians mature, in ministry and in intercession, the awareness of their ministry will increase. Mature ministers will recognize their role. Some believe they can be manipulated but the true ones know and sense the Heart of God and hear His Voice from the crowd. They know how vital it is to pray with discernment the Scriptures of God.
Mature or more seasoned Intercessors will share the importance of hearing from God in the gift. They emphasized that praise and worship was most often the key that set the stage for hearing His burdens. They seek to live a holy and consecrated life. This material will include some foundational principals to apply as God’s Intercessor.
I was once told by an Apostle that imparted into the gifting God had placed in me with this simple sentence about intercession and prayer:
“Never pray more than ten minutes, but never go more than ten minutes without praying.”

The Webster’s Dictionary denotes the word satan with capital letters; also, giving God the same reverence. It is a conscious decision in this booklet, not to do so. Only God gets the Glory, the Honor and the Capitals!
Intercessory Ministry
The nuts and bolts of it all; Who? What? When? Why? How? Where? Have you found yourself with more questions than answers about an intercessory, but believe God has anointed you as one? Well, one can’t be made into intercessor. One in the five-fold ministry can only activate the anointing that already lies within you.
WHO:
* Isaiah 62:6-7
“I have set watchman upon the walls. O Jerusalem; they shall never hold their peace day nor night; ye that are Jehovah’s remembrances , take ye no rest, 7. And give him no rest till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.”
The above scripture is the cry of the Intercessor/Watchman/Gatekeeper, Set on the wall, interceding for Jerusalem (The Church), never holding their peace until the Kingdom is established.
* 2 Sam. 18:24-27
Now David was sitting between the two gates. And the watchman went up to the roof over the gate, to the wall, lifted his eyes and looked, and there was a man, running alone. Then the watchman cried out and told the king. And the king said, If he is alone there is news in his mouth.” And he came rapidly and drew near. Then the watchman saw another man, running alone!” And the King said, “He also brings news.” So the watchman said, “I think the running of the first is like the running of Ahimaaz the son of Zadok.” And the king said, “He is a good man, and comes with good news.”
* Isaiah 21:6
For thus has the Lord said to me: “Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he sees.”
A watchman observes and declares to the “King”-(Pastor). In a spiritual manner. Not from emotions or personal opinion. An intercessor’s gifts allows them to tap into prophetic realms. This does not make an intercessor a prophet. However, every prophet is an intercessor.
* 1 Cor. 14:31
“For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted”
WHAT:
* Philippians 4:6
“In nothing be anxious; but in everything in prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”
* John 14:12-14
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto the Father. 13. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”
WHEN:
* Luke 18:1
“And he spake a parable unto them to the end that they ought always to pray, and not to faint;
WHERE:
* Matthew 6; 6
“But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thine inner chamber, and having shut thy door, pray to thy Father who is in secret, and thy Father who seeth in secret shall recompense thee.
Secret Place, Sanctuary,

HOW:
* James 5:16
“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”
* Romans 8:26-27
“And in the same way the Spirit also helps our weaknesses; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groaning too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.”
* Isaiah 11:5
Also righteousness will be the belt about His loins, And faithfulness the belt about His waist.
* Isaiah 59:14
“He put on righteousness like a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on His head; and He put on garments of vengeance for clothing. And wrapped Himself with zeal as a mantle.”
* Luke 12:35
“Be dressed in readiness, and keep your lamps lit.”
* Thessalonians 5:8
“But since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation.” 1. Having on the whole armor of God 2. In righteousness 3. Always vigilant

* Matthew 6:7-
7.” And in praying use not vain repetitions, as the Gentiles do; for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. 8 Be not therefore like unto them; for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.”

WHY:
* Ephesians 6:12
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places, Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

The Three Heavens
An intercessor’s prayers must not be amiss. They must live such a life that would
Draw God’s Children to come to them with prayer requests with confidence of God manifesting Himself.
( Reach The Throne)
1. The atmosphere (sky) that surrounds the earth. Gen 1:7-8
2. The Universe or Space. Gen. 22:17
3. The place where His throne is located: It is the Apostle Paul who reveals and confirms the existence of a THIRD heaven. Paul, speaking indirectly about what occurred to him, states:
“I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago – whether in the body I do not know, or whether
out of the body I do not know, God knows – such a one was caught up to the THIRD HEAVEN. (2 Cor. 12;2-10)

What an Intercessor should avoid
1. Using their tongue as a weapon; talebearing, backbiting, false witness, swearing, bitterness
2. Pride/Haughtiness —–1 Peter 4; 18
3. Judgmental Spirit
4. Clinging to worldly things and expecting God to answer your prayers (Any sin or iniquity that you have not repented for) Repent means a sincere sorrow and turning away from that sin.
5. Praying amiss James 4:3
6. Praying harm or revenge upon another
7. Inability to keep confidentiality 1 Cor. 4:9
Within the Intercessory Ministry you are involved in, you may have already compared your prayer level to others. STOP !Perhaps you feel as if you don’t know what or how to pray. First, God connects with the heart of the intercessor. It is He Will to give you the desires of your heart. So, you must develop the heart of God for His people. It is written that out of the mouth of man reveals the heart. Open your mouth from your heart. Maybe, you don’t feel worthy enough to carry the mantle of an intercessor. His grace is sufficient for you. Whom He Calls, He qualifies.
The sense of feeling unworthy can be healthy. It is a ministry that you don’t take on lightly. It is a ministry that you must press towards the mark of –“Holiness” —– a higher calling.
Humility is important in each and every area of ministry from the Pastor to the Chicken Fryer, or whatever area God has called you into. We are each a member of one body serving one God. We are the branches and He is the vine.

Profile/Characteristics of an Intercessor
Always vigilant/Sober/Alert:
* Matthew 26:41 : “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.
An intercessor is one who has an intimate relationship with God, studies, mediate, hears, receive and believe 100% the word of God. A person who is not self-righteous or judgmental and does not operate independently of God in their own strength, knowledge and abilities but is TOTALLY DEPENDENT ON THE LEADING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. They do not operate outside of the word of God but pray accordingly to the word of God. They have dedicated themselves to live holy and righteous and to intercede regularly on behalf of others, pastors, family, the lost, sick, forsaken and bereaved, neighborhoods, communities, leaders, Presidents and those in authority. They are quick to repent of any sin, shortcomings or downfalls and daily come to wash in the fountain filled with the precious cleaning BLOOD OF THE LAMB.
Intercessors operate heavily in the fruits of the spirit. They especially operate in Humility, BROKENESS, and CONTRITE. An intercessor is a worshiper. Worship is great intimacy. Your ear gates are your instrument of intimacy. Therefore, be mindful of what gets into your ear gates. Present your body a living sacrifice holy and acceptable to God.
(Scriptures on hearing and humility)
* John 8:47
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”
* Jeremiah 7:23-24
“But this is what I commanded them, saying, ‘Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people. And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you. “Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but followed the counsels and the dictates of their evil hearts, and went backward and not forward.”
* Proverbs 29:23
“And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.”
*Proverbs 16:18-19
“Pride goeth before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall. Better it is to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.”
Proverbs 29:23
“A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit”

The Four Prophetic Winds
(This is just a very brief description of the Four Winds of God)
“The angel answered me, “These are the four winds of heaven going out, after
presenting themselves before the Lord of all the earth.” Zechariah 6:5
North: The most dramatic and most powerful is the North Wind. The North Wind brings the presence of God. It symbolizes the presence of God. It brings about rain which symbolizes revival. Deliverance
South Wind: Restores God into our life. The south wind was the spirit of wisdom and understanding. South Wind prophets have a specific work different from all the others. Zechariah 9:14 Proverbs 25:23
East Wind: Removes the works of satan, a spirit of counsel and might.
West Wind: Removes satan himself , the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.
God’s Word speaks of the East Wind more than any of the other winds. The East Wind is referred to twenty-one times. When God was going to bring judgment upon Egypt to deliver His people, He used the East Wind twice. The first time…
“…Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and the Lord brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all that night; and when it was morning, the East Wind brought the locusts.” *** Exodus 10:13
Locusts are always a sign of destruction. Nothing lives in the path of the locust. God used the East Wind to bring judgment upon all vegetation Egypt depended on to sustain life. God’s judgment is always swift and complete.
The second time God used the East Wind to bring judgment upon Egypt…
“…Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.” *** Exodus 14:21
The East Wind divided the Red Sea. The dividing of the Red Sea brought deliverance to God’s people. The East Wind allowed God’s people to cross over on dry ground, but to the Egyptian Army, the East Wind meant total annihilation. God’s people were completely delivered from any threat of Pharaoh’s army.
The East Wind always blows from the New Day. For Egypt it was the end. All their vegetation was gone, their crops, their livestock, all trees. Death was in every house. Their army and all their young men were destroyed.
To Israel, it was the beginning of a New Day. They were released from their slavery. Governmental taskmasters no longer had dominion in their lives. They were set free to worship their God, and to plan their own future. They were free to act upon the promises of God, free to enter the land flowing with milk and honey. We, too, look forward to the time when God will set His people free from all the bondage of the governmental taskmasters. God is about to lead His people into His New Day, the glorious Kingdom of God. God declares His East Wind many ways. The Psalmist wrote:
“Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.” *** Psalm 48:7
The word Tarshish means “she will bring poverty, or she will scatter”. Tarshish always means “a time of testing, or a place of heat”. When God sends His East Wind upon the earth, it will be a time of testing and breaking. Those who will not be broken (humbled), now, will be broken when the angels release the four winds to blow upon the earth.

The Four Night Watches: The periods into which the time between sunset and sunrise was divided. They are so called because watchmen relieved each other at each of these periods. There are frequent references in Scripture to the duties of watchmen who were appointed to give notice of the approach of an enemy (2 Sam. 18:24-27; 2 Kings 9:17-20; Isa. 21:5-9). They were sometimes placed for this purpose on watch-towers (2 Kings 17:9; 18:8). Ministers or teachers are also spoken of under this title (Jer. 6:17; Ezek. 33:2-9; Heb. 13:17).

The watches of the night were originally three in number, (1) “the beginning of the watches” (Lam. 2:19); (2) “the middle watch” (Judg. 7:19); and (3) “the morning watch” (Ex. 14:24; 1 Sam. 11:11), which extended from two o’clock to sunrise. But in the New Testament we read of four watches, a division probably introduced by the Romans (Matt. 14:25; Mark 6:48; Luke 12:38).
* Originally divided into three watches.
Lamentations 2:19 Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like water before the face of the Lord: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children that faint for hunger in the top of every street.
Judges 7:19 So Gideon, and the hundred men that were with him, came unto the outside of the camp in the beginning of the middle watch; and they had but newly set the watch: and they blew the trumpets, and break the pitchers that were in their hands.
Exodus 14:24 And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the LORD looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians,
* Divided into four watches by the Romans.
Luke 12:38 And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.
Matthew 14:25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.
Mark 13:35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:
* First Watch : 6:00pm-9:00pm * Second Watch: 9:00pm-12:00am
* Third Watch: 12:00am-3:00am *Fourth Watch: 3:00am-6:00am
Have you found yourself awaken during any of these night-watches.

God’s Will Vs. Our Will (30 pieces of silver)
As an intercessor you have the heart for the people and their burdens. You may operate in the prophetic vein or prophetic flow that allows you to see faces, names, situations, feel one’s hurt, agony, or despair in the supernatural requiring you to pray for. This is the difference between an intercessor verses a Prophetic Intercessor.
This at times leaves an intercessor feeling as if they are on an emotional rollercoaster ride. An intercessor must be girded up in scripture, prayer and fasting to fully understand these changes; and know how to control them.
Because intercessors flow in the fruits of the spirit such as; charity/love, mercy, and longsuffering. There will be times that an intercessor will want to do more than pray. Always, include prayer in every decision.
* James 4:13
“Instead, you should say,”If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that” But as it is, you boast in your arrogance.”
* James 4:15
“So, for the person who knows to do good and doesn’t do it, it is a sin.”
Methods an Intercessor utilizes in communicating with God
Dreams Job 33:14-18 Visions
Angelic Visitations-Acts 27:23 Face-to-face-
Inner Voice- 1Kings 19 Journaling-Habakkuk 2:1
* Job 33:14-18
“For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed; then He openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction, that He may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man. He keepeth his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.”
The Biblical Meaning of Colors
Red: Blood and atonement Leviticus 17; 11 Hebrew 9;14
Blue: Heaven and heavenly grace Exodus 24;10
Purple: Royalty, Kingship -Judges 8; 26
White: Purity-Dan. 12:10 Silver: Redemption Matt.27:3-9, Numbers 18; 15-16
Gold: Divinity and Gods Glory- Exodus 37, Rev. 1, Rev. 3:18
Bronze/Brass: Judgment-Exodus 27; 1-3 Black: Sin, death-Psalm 23;4 Eph.5;11
Holiness or Hell is the lifestyle of an Intercessor
And they are constantly thinking and speaking Kingdom, even in the midst of life’s trials and tribulations. Their primary concern is for the people of God with astronomical faith that God will catch them on the back end. “Esteeming one another higher then themselves.”
Contrary to the world’s view of: “You’re so heavenly minded that you are no earthly good.” Be not the “WORLD’S FRIEND'”
If this is a principal that you adhere to then you are an “Undercover Christian.” This is not a compliment. An intercessor’s job is to, at all times, pray down the enemy’s kingdom. Approach every situation as an opportunity for you to bombard the gates of Heaven on someone else’s behalf. Basically, God does not desire for you to be earthly minded.
God desires for us, especially His intercessors to operate with heavenly principals at all times. If there is a situation, a problem, or concern the answer is “Heavenly Minded Heavenly Prayers, Heavenly Expectations to a Heavenly Father.”
* James 4:4
“So, whoever wants to be the world’s (earth), friend becomes God’s enemy.”
* Leviticus 11:44
“For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
* 1 Peter 1:16 “Because it is written, “YOU SHALL BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY.”

* Matthew 7:14
“Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life and FEW THERE BE THAT FIND IT”. Straight is the gate and narrow is the path that leads to righteousness and Oneness with the Father, while in the body: few there be that find the KEY.
* James 4:17
“So, for the person who knows to do good and doesn’t do it, it is a sin.”
Names of God
An Intercessor knows God and all of His splendor therefore, it is essential to Call and Know upon the names of the Lord. These are just a few names of God.

Fasting
Fasting and praying go hand-in-hand and for the same purposes: Fasting is the greatest spiritual discipline for seeking God’s intervention. Combined with prayer they together make up the most critical weapons of spiritual warfare and deliverance in our lives. While we cannot manipulate God to fulfill our desires exactly as laid out; fasting always (when done the biblical way) moves God to fulfill His intended Will over the matters.
Do the “D” (Deny) to obtain the three:
1. Discipline: Calling flesh into subjection
2. Discernment: Hearing God with spiritual clarity.
3. Deliver: Remove death that you may “live” in the greater= De/live/er

* Isaiah 58:6-9
” Is this not the fast that I have chosen:
To loose the bonds of wickedness,
To undo the heavy burdens,
To let the oppressed go free,
And that you break every yoke?
7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry,
And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out;
When you see the naked, that you cover him,
And not hide yourself from your own flesh?
8 Then your light shall break forth like the morning,
Your healing shall spring forth speedily,
And your righteousness shall go before you;
The glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.
9 Then you shall call, and the LORD will answer;
You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’
If you take away the yoke from your midst,
The pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness,”
Fasting is not:
• A means of getting what we want from God.
• A way to simultaneously lose weight while being spiritual.
• An outward discipline done to prove a point.
• Just for fanatics, or limited to ministers or special
occasions.
Fasting is:
• Restraining from food for a spiritual purpose.
• Humbling oneself over the seriousness of their sin.
• Seeking repentance and asking God’s forgiveness.
I. THE BLESSING OF A BIBLICAL FAST (Vs. 6-7)
A. Spiritual Renewal that brings forth victory.

CHRIST FOLLOWER.
A. Foundation of Authenticity – Matthew 6:1-8; Luke 6:40

An Intercessor’s Prayer Language/Speaking in Tongues = Glossolalia
When you pray in tongues, it is your spirit praying by the Holy Spirit within you. It is the Holy Spirit within you giving you the utterance, and you are speaking it out of your spirit. You do the talking. He gives the utterance; by that method the Holy Spirit is helping you to pray according to the Will of God, as things should be prayed for. This isn’t something that the Holy Ghost does apart from you. He doesn’t groan or speak in tongues apart from you. Those groaning come from inside us and escape out lips.
* Romans 8:26
“And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groaning that cannot be expressed in words.”
1. Praying in tongues stimulates faith. Jude 20
2. Praying in tongues keeps us from worldly contamination. 1 Cor.14:28
3. Praying in tongues enables us to pray for the unknown. Romans 8:26
4. Praying in tongues gives spiritual refreshing. Isaiah 28:11
5. Praying in tongues as a tool of warfare.
* Matthew 3:7, 11-12
When he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptizing, he said to them, “…I baptize you with water for repentance, but after me will come One who is more powerful than I, Whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.
* Acts 8:18-24
18. When Simon saw that the Spirit was given by the laying on of the hands of the apostles (Peter and John), he offered them gifts saying, 19. “Now, you must immediately give me this authority so that if I would lay hands on someone he would take the Holy Spirit.” 20. Peter said to him, “May your silver be destroyed with you, because you believe the gift of God is acquired by money. 21Neither is there for you any part nor any share in this message, for your heart is not right before God. 22Therefore, you must immediately repent from this evil of yours and ask the Lord if He will really forgive the thought of your heart for you, 23for I see that you are in a gall of bitterness, extreme wickedness, and a bond of sin.” 24Simon said, “You must right now ask the Lord about me in order that nothing which you said would come upon me.”
There are three gifts of speaking in tongues
1. Tongues that require interpretation. 1 Cor. 10:12
2. Tongues for evangelism Acts 2:4
3. Tongues in your prayer language 1 Cor. 14:2
Physical Positions for prayer
Praying in different positions is not specifically detailed in the bible, other than the lifting of hands, Yadda, the Hebrew word meaning lifted up hands. It is understandable why an intercessor would utilize various positions in prayer for we present our bodies as a living sacrifice. If you pay close attention you may notice that the majority of these positions require humility. That is the ultimate goal as an intercessor. We get down, so that God may get up.
* laying flat on the floor, face down, with hands stretched out (also known as ‘prostrate’);
* standing, hands raised and spread, palms up, looking upward;
* sitting, head bowed, eyes closed, hands folded (the most common position today);
* kneeling, head bowed, hands folded;
* kneeling, head to the ground, hands face down on ground next to head;
* standing, eyes forward, facing the altar;
* sitting eyes closed, hands in front, palms up;
* laying flat on the floor, face up, palms up;
* slow leisurely walking (or sitting), eyes open, in a place where one can safely pay very little attention to where one is going.
Pleading the Blood of Jesus (Contrary to popular belief it is “Plead” and “Bleed” the Blood.
* Hebrew 9:14
“How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God”?
* Hebrews 12:24
“And to Jesus the Mediator of the New Covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling,
that speaks better things than that of Abel.”
(I know it was the Blood, I know it was the Blood, I know it was the Blood for me. One day when I was lost Jesus died upon the cross)
At Golgotha, a small hill outside of Jerusalem where Christ was crucified
Repeatedly, the scriptures reveal the power of the Blood as a prophecy forth telling the power of the Blood of Jesus; such as the Passover, Pharaoh’s decree to kill the first born sons. There is power in pleading the Blood of Jesus. It is an act of faith. As an intercessor you plead the blood to overcome satan, to cover your family etc . Not as a magical formula but it’s redeeming, cleansing power.
* Exodus 12: 13-14
13 But the blood on your doorposts will serve as a sign, marking the houses where you are staying. When I see the blood, I will pass over you. This plague of death will not touch you when I strike the land of Egypt. 14 “This is a day to remember. Each year, from generation to generation, you must celebrate it as a special festival to the Lord. This is a law for all time.
Practical Principals during deliverance
The process of deliverance from demons is achieved by first
taking away the demons’ “rights” or what I call “spiritual leases”. They
have a binding lease either from personal sin, ancestral sin, soul ties or
witchcrafts. Breaking these curses or spiritual cages is achieved by
renunciations, once the gateways or root issues are dealt with on a mass level, demons have no leg left to stand on and must move! The four areas
that are detrimental to cover in renunciations are: 1) Releasing
yourself from any unforgiveness or bitterness, 2) Renunciation of any
form of the occult, 3) Breaking ungodly soul ties (by name for best
effects) 4) Confession of your own sins and ancestral sins of the forefathers. Now, in alignment with doctrine we are aware that Christ has broken all curses. This applies to those that are aware and living as citizens of the Kingdom. Therefore, there are those of us that remain under the curse, in spite of the curse breaker.
Prayers for deliverance to be said by the person being delivered:

In the Name of the Lord Jesus, by the power of His
precious Blood, I now renounce, break the CURSES and loose myself
and all my descendants, from all psychic heredity, demonic holds,
psychic powers, bondage, bonds or physical or mental illness, or
curses which may be upon my family line as a result of sins,
transgressions, iniquities, all witchcrafts, occult or psychic
involvements of myself, my parents, or any of my ancestors (my
spouse, any and all ex-spouses, or their parents, or any of their
ancestors). In the Name of Jesus and by the power of the Blood of
Jesus Christ right now, I break all curses and loose myself and all my
descendants from all evil curses, incantations, chanting, charms,
crystals, hexes, vexes, voodoo, hoodoo, incense burning, candle
magic, doll spells/vexations, spells, bottle curses, jinxes, potions,
prayer chains, spells of Death, spells of Destruction, sickness, pain,
bewitchments, witchcraft or sorcery in any form which may have been
put upon me or my family line, from any person or persons or from
any occult or psychic source. I renounce all connected and related
spirits and command them to leave me now. I thank you Lord Jesus
for setting me free!

Prayers for sins in our bloodline

In accordance with (Leviticus 26), I do now
confess for myself and the sins of my ancestors, and ask forgiveness
for these sins: Idolatry, witchcraft, fornication, incest, eating blood,
murder, stealing, mistreating the poor, covetousness, occultism, lust,
adultery, divorce, perversion, rebellion, stubbornness and wicked heart
of unbelief, all sins known and unknown. I claim forgiveness because
of the provisions in 1st John 1:9, break the curses and lift the curses
of whoredoms and iniquities from me and my descendants.
I command all spirits associated with these to leave me and my family and go wherever Jesus wants to send them!

The Bible features many examples of deliverance ministry. We can glean many helpful points about deliverance from studying these examples.
Luke 4:33-36; Mark 1:25-26 In Capernaum, a man with a demon cried out at Jesus. Jesus rebuked it, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!” The demon then convulsed the man and cried out with a loud voice. It threw the man down and came out of him.
Mark 1:34 Jesus cast out many demons; He did not allow the demons to speak, because they knew him.
Mark 3:10-12 Jesus sternly warned the unclean spirits that they should not make his identity known
Luke 4:38-39 Jesus rebuked the fever in Peter’s mother-in-law and it left immediately
Luke 4:40-41 Jesus laid hands on many people and the demons cried out and came out of them. Jesus rebuked them and did not let them speak.
Luke 9:37-42; Matthew 17:14-21; Mark 9:14-29 The demon-possessed boy is delivered: This story has many interesting features. The evil spirit was able to seize the boy, cry out in a loud voice, convulse him, bruise him and cause him to foam at the mouth. The disciples were unable to cast the demon out, but Jesus was able to do so. Jesus said, “Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!” (Mark 9:25). Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit and healed the child (Luke 9:39-42). Jesus later explained to the disciples that their unbelief kept them from being able to cast the demon out. Jesus also said that type of demon would not go out except by prayer and fasting (Matthew 17:20-21; Mark 9:29).
Luke 9:49-50 Man casting out demons in Jesus’ name
Luke 11:14-15; Matthew 12:22-23 Jesus casts out a mute demon
Luke13:10-16 Jesus looses woman from a spirit of infirmity: She had been afflicted for 18 years and was bent over permanently. Jesus called her to him and said, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.” He laid his hands on her and immediately she was made straight. Jesus mentioned that Satan had bound the woman (Luke 13:16).
Matthew 8:28-32; Luke 8:26-33; Mark 5:1-20 Gaderenes (or Gerasenes) demoniacs: These men were exceedingly fierce. They cried out at Jesus, and begged him to permit them to go into the swine. Jesus said, “Come out of the man, unclean spirit!” (Mark 5:1-20). He also said “Go” (Matthew 8:32). Apparently the spirits didn’t leave immediately, because Jesus then asked “What is your name?” (Mark 5:1-20). They told him their name was “Legion” and begged him to send them into the swine. Finally the spirits left the demoniac(s) and went into the swine.
Acts 19:11-12 Deliverance via handkerchiefs that touched Paul’s body
Don’t send the cursed to do the job of the free
Acts 19: 13-16 Jewish exorcists attempt deliverance without faith in Jesus: These exorcists were likely spiritists/conjurers who used spells & oaths to bind spirits. They invoked Jesus’ name without believing in Jesus nor having a relationship with Him. The demons recognized the exorcist’s lack of authority, jumped on them and beat them up! I personally, have found this to be one of my favorite events in the Bible. !
Acts 8:6-7 Philip preached in Samaria to the multitudes. They heeded his teaching. Unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed.
Acts 16:16-18 Paul casts out spirit of divination from slave girl: The girl met Paul’s team as they went to prayer. The spirit harassed Paul for days. Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” The spirit came out that hour.
Do not take a part of or operate in deliverance without faith. Now, that seems simple, right? Wrong. It is written that there is something that ONLY comes by fasting and praying. This then denotes a different level of faith, a type of faith that
Authority over the demonic kingdom
It is very clear that we have been given the authority to trample upon the heads of scorpions and serpents. Here are several scriptures as example. However, as noted in Luke 10:19-20 it is not by any power of our own, but Jesus. He gets the glory.
* Matthew 10:1,7-8; Mark 3:15 Jesus gave the twelve disciples power to cast out evil spirits and to heal all kinds of disease, weakness and infirmity. Jesus sent the disciples out to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead and cast out demons.
* Luke 10:17 The 70 disciples returned with joy, confirming that the demons were subject to them in Jesus’ name
* Luke 10:19-20 Jesus gave his disciples authority over all evil: “19I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. 20However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
* Mark 16:15-18 Jesus gives Christians authority over evil spirits: “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons…they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover”

The Enemy by any other name is still the ENEMY
Did you know there are more names for satan in the Bible than there is for God? I have heard many Christians say, “I don’t want to know anything about the devil or any of his names; why do I need to know this stuff?
We need to know because that bible decrees that we must to pray as well as watch. We should keep in mind that we are in war of two Kingdoms; God versus Evil and the evil is preying and watching as well-unfortunately–more than we. It has been said time and time again that the enemy knows the word as much and at times more; simply because we have chosen to take the passive role.
It is essential to know the demon, spirits, principalities and how they operate for a successful deliverance and prayers. Now, this information is given to the intercessors so that they know what to pray against and for during deliverance. Of course deliverance ministry requires more preparation and training.
It is a danger to the person ministering deliverance, the person in need of deliverance and others around. This is not something to play or practice at; you should be birthed into the deliverance ministry from someone seasoned in this ministry. Always remember there are no dress rehearsals in deliverance. I have seen many with good intensions move in deliverance ministry to only bring home a few friends they didn’t leave home with. This is arrived from two reasons:
1. Lack of faith and knowledge 2. Portals still open in their lives through iniquities of their own. “What is done in the dark comes out in the light.”

Deliverance workers should move around quietly. Provide paper towels to those who need them. Lay hands on those who are having trouble, agree with them, and command the demons to come out. Do not start a conversation with others during deliverance. This interrupts the flow of the deliverance.
Do not hand the person being ministered to by means of prophecy or deliverance a tissue if they are crying. First, it interrupts the flow of the spirit and distracts the person in need of a breakthrough. Secondly, your tears help you release and heal.
Deliverance is not prayer. You command the demons to GO in Jesus’ Name.
Demons are like air. They are usually expelled by the exhaling of breath. This can be by yawning, coughing, deep breathing or gentle exhaling of breath. Demons can have nests in the body which have substance. They are usually expelled by blowing the nose, coughing up phlegm or vomiting. For instance, paper towels and waste cans are provided for this reason.
These things must be completely removed from the building and exposed of immediately after deliverance.
Demons can temporarily take over the body and manifest their characteristics. They can look through your eyes, body to assume grotesque shapes, temporarily paralyze the body, throw the body on the floor and cause it to squirm around, and talk using your voice, growl, or bark. For this reason, the intercessors working the altar use discretion when it does manifest by utilizing the covering sheets. Deliverance is not a spectator sport.
After deliverance has been completed, a prayer cancelling retaliation, backlash for the entire team participating in deliverance is needed.
Please understand that there are some instances of deliverances that require several sessions.
It is not the loudness of a command that moves the demon but the authority of the name and blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. You must know your authority or the demons will recognize your weakness. Now with that said, a demon can’t cast out a demon. So, if you are operating in bitterness, unforgiveness, manipulation, addictions, lust, perversion or any other demonic spirits you are wasting the time and only transferring spirits. Deliverance is cleaning the body of unclean spirits. Therefore, your hands must be clean. You would not use a dirty dish towel to clean your dishes?
By birthing, appointed believers into the battle for deliverance, they soon become seasoned soldiers, learning tactics on the battlefield. This is the purpose of this booklet. To give you some basic principals in every area an intercessor will come across. Amen
Always pray in your prayer language to cover the deliverance minister(s) deliveree and others around.
This booklet was written based on things I have seen, been trained in, and questions asked by other intercessors. This is only a very small portion of this topic and has yet to be completed. Other future chapters or areas of discussion will include but not excluded to:
Prophetic Intercessors, Warfare Prayers, Encrypted Prayers, False Tongues, Unanswered Prayers, Prayer Movements, Prayer Shawls, Sharp Shooter Prayers, Praying and listening, Praying for your Enemy, Praying for your Pastors, Prayer Watches and Knowing your watch, and Prayer verses Intercession much more.

Anointing Oil
Oil should be blessed by your pastor or minister.
After it has been blessed it should be protected and keep in a safe place.
Intercessors should get into the habit of keeping oil, Holy Bible and particular prayers with them at all times.
If in an emergency situation any oil substance will do. However, once blessed it should not be used again as its intended design. Yes, no more frying chicken with the Crisco after it’s blessed.
TERMINOLOGY: To be “anointed” is, among other things, to be made sacred (consecrated); to be set apart and dedicated to serve God; to be imparted with enabling gifts and grace; to be divinely designated, inaugurated, or chosen for some purpose. We know this subject is important to God because the words anoint, anointed, and anointing appear in more than 150 Spirit-inspired Bible verses, including 22 New Testament scriptures. Indeed, the English word anoint derives from the ancient Latin inunctus, meaning “smear with oil”.
CONNECTION TO ESSENTIAL OIL: The Bible Dictionary mentions only two types of anointing: with oil or the Holy Ghost. In short, anointing and oil are much more integrally related than most people realize, which explains why Bible translators sometimes use anoint and oil interchangeably as synonymous verbs (e.g., Isa. 21:5).
THE ANOINTED ONE: Both the ancient Hebrew form of Messiah and the ancient Greek form of Christ literally mean “anointed”; thus, “Jesus Christ” is more accurately rendered “Jesus the Anointed” (or as “Jesus, the Anointed One”, or “Jesus, His Anointed”). This is one of the reasons our Savior first publicly announced Himself as the divine Messiah [Luke 4:18] by quoting Isaiah 61:1: “The Spirit of Adonai ELOHIM is upon me, because ADONAI has anointed me…” It’s why Peter and John and the followers with them, inspired by the Holy Spirit, publicly refer to Jesus (Yeshua) as the “Anointed One” [Acts 4:26, NIV] and NKJ, NIV, and NAS Biblical versions translate: “Your holy Servant Jesus, whom you anointed”.
WHY FRAGRANT OIL: God is obviously a lover of sweet-smelling fragrances and perfumes, words (or forms of them) which appear in Scripture 41 times and 35 times, respectively. Spices – in the context of anointing oils, perfume, food, and incense – are mentioned throughout the Bible: 16 verses containing frankincense, 17 with myrrh, five with spikenard, and many others featuring cinnamon, cassia, calamus, camphor, stacte, aloes, onycha, cedar, honey, hyssop, henna, mandrakes ,pomegranates, lilies, roses, and saffron. Our faith is deepened and we are enriched and brought closer to God as we begin to study and understand the spiritual meaning of these exotic biblical fragrances.
FIRST SCRIPTURAL REFERENCE: The great Hebrew patriarch Jacob (divinely renamed “Israel”) makes a sacred vow to God after anointing a stone pillar by pouring oil on top of it [Gen. 28:16-22; 31:13; 35:14]. Jacob names the pillar’s locale “Bethel” (or Beit-El, meaning “House of God. The editors of the Ryrie Study Bible comment that by pouring this anointing oil, Jacob “consecrated” the pillar, thereby rendering it an altar holy unto God.

THE HOLY ANOINTING OIL: In Exodus chapter 30, the LORD tells Moses to make a very special and “holy anointing oil” of “the finest of spices”, including “flowing (liquid) myrrh”, “sweet-smelling cinnamon”, “fragrant cane”, “cassia”, and “olive oil”. This highly perfumed oil was used to consecrate (set apart) the articles used in Temple worship, including the ark of the testimony, the holy tabernacle, and all its furnishings, which made them “Holy” (Kadosh in Hebrew) unto the Lord. This word Kadosh, meaning “set-apart”, is written on all of ABBA’s anointing oils. However, Yahweh gives an admonition NOT to reproduce the exact formula or use it on ordinary humans-an admonition that ABBA takes seriously. (We do not attempt in any way to reproduce this formula).
THE LAMPSTAND: In Biblical times light was usually provided by oil lamps (or menorahs, a Hebrew word translated “lampstands”, “lamps”, or, less accurately, “candlesticks”). Often made of clay, brass, silver, or gold, these simple “lamps” slowly burned oil–typically olive oil. This explains scriptures such as Exodus 27:20 (“…order the people of Israel to bring you pure oil of pounded olives for the light, to keep a lamp burning continually”); Exodus 35:14 (“…the menorah for the light, … and the oil for the light, spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense…”); and Exodus 35:28 (“…oil for the light, and for the anointing oil…”). It also deepens our understanding of the parable of the wise and foolish virgins [Mat. 25:1-12].
PRIESTS: In Exodus, the LORD identifies anointing oil is an acceptable offering unto Him [Exo. 25:6]. Furthermore, He directs that Aaron and his sons be anointed, consecrated, and sanctified as holy priests to minister unto Him [Exo. 28:41 and that Aaron be anointed as Israel’s High Priest through the pouring of anointing oil on his head and garments [Exo. 29:7,21,29]. (Psalm 133:1-2 compare harmonious brotherhood to “fragrant oil on the head that runs down over the beard of Aaron…”).
KINGS: In Scripture’s first kingly anointing, the prophet Samuel pours oil on the head of King Saul [1Sa. 10:1].
DAVID’S ANOINTING: David, the “man after God’s own heart”, is officially anointed with oil (by others) not once but three times [1Sa. 16:12-13; 2Sa. 2:4; 2Sa. 5:3]. In Psalm 23:5, he says to God, “You anoint my head with oil.” This is confirmed by Psalm 89:20-21, wherein God declares, “I have found David my servant and anointed him with My holy oil. My hand will always be with him.” In addition, David anoints himself while trying to shake off grief over the death of his child and just before entering the Temple to worship God [1Sa. 12:20].

QUEEN ESTHER & OIL OF MYRRH: In Esther’s era any Queen-to-be had to undergo a year of preparations prior to coronation [Est. 2:3, 6-13]. Esther underwent “a six-month treatment with oil of myrrh and six months with perfumes and other aloes”. One translation states it as “…with olive oil and myrrh…” In ancient times, the average woman’s perfume was her anointing oil.
MARY OF BETHANY & SPIKENARD OIL: One of Scripture’s most poignant, bittersweet scenes [Mat. 26:6-13; Mark 14:3-9; John 12:3-5] memorializes Mary of Bethany: A woman with an alabaster jar filled with very expensive perfume (pure spikenard oil worth an average laborer’s annual wage) approaches Yeshua, breaks the jar, and begins pouring the precious oil over His head and feet. As the house fills with the oil’s pungent fragrance, the Lord says to those nearby: “She has done a beautiful thing for me…She poured this perfume on me to prepare my body for burial…I tell you that throughout the whole world…what she has done will be told in her memory.” Obviously, our Lord was deeply touched by Mary’s unselfish, thoughtful, heartfelt, sacrificial expression of devotion and profound love. Some Bible commentators deem Mary’s faithful act as the utmost example of what God desires in believers.
FRANKINCENSE & MYRRH: The “Magi from the east” honored the child Messiah with gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh [Mat. 2:11]. The gospels recount that before his death, Yeshua (Jesus) was offered myrrh mixed with wine, which he refused, and that after his death his body was treated with “a mixture of myrrh and aloes.” Frankincense comes to be associated with Christ’s role as our intercessor (the bowl of incense in Rev 5:8 is frankincense, representing the prayers of the saints), myrrh with his suffering and death. In Song of Songs the writer refers to the bridegroom (Yeshua) as “who is He coming in a pillar of smoke smelling of myrrh & frankincense?” Many have suggested that the gold, frankincense, and myrrh represent the three roles of Yeshua respectively: King, Priest and Prophet.
FRAGRANCE OF MESSIAH: The apostle Paul writes: “…thanks be to God, who in the Messiah constantly leads us in a triumphal procession and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of what it means to know Him! For to God we are the aroma of the Messiah, both among those being saved and among those being lost; to the latter, we are the smell of death leading only to more death; but to the former, we are the sweet smell of life leading to more life [2Co. 2:14-16].”
YESHUA (JESUS)’ COMMAND: According to Revelation 3:18 (NAS), Yeshua Himself says to the believing community in Laodicea: “I advise you to buy from Me gold…white garments…and eye salve to anoint your eyes, that you may see.” Speaking of “white garments”, consider the advice of King Solomon: “Always be clothed in white, and always anoint your head with oil [Ecc. 9:8, NIV].”

BELIEVERS ARE ANOINTED: Believers are “in Yeshua”(Jesus) and He is “in us”; thus we, too, have been and are divinely anointed, as affirmed by both 2Corinthians 1:21-22 (“…it is God who sets…us…in firm union with the Messiah; He has anointed us, put His seal on us, and given us His Spirit”) and 1John 2:20, 27 (“…you have received the Messiah’s anointing…the Messianic anointing you received from the Father remains in you…His Messianic anointing continues to teach you about all things…so remain united with Him.”). So, whether or not you use anointing oil, you’re already one of God’s anointed!
OTHERS CAN & SHOULD BE ANOINTED: Some believe oil should be used to anoint only kings and priests; according to Scripture, however, believers in Yeshua as the divine Son of God and as their Savior and Lord are “priests” [1Pe. 2:5,9]; they are kings (by virtue of having the King of Kings “in them” [Gal. 2:20]); and they may justifiably view their being anointed with oil as a physical manifestation of their being filled continuously with the Holy Spirit [1Jn. 2:20; 2Co. 1:21-22]. (Indeed, according to most Bible scholars, in God’s Word anointing oil typically symbolizes the Holy Spirit.) Furthermore, “ordinary” ancient Israelites anointed themselves and each other with oil [Ruth 3:3; 2Ch. 28:15; Dan. 10:3; Amos 6:6], and the B’rit Hadashah(Hebrew for New Covenant) actually directs “ordinary believers” to do this [Mat. 6:17; James 5:14].
